One Of The Things I'm really Excited by Right Now ...
I hope that life is fruitful and somewhat peaceful at times, but that it is also exciting you! I'm someone who tends to live most in the present, rather than the future, so I need a fair bit of excitement day to day, rather than waiting for the promise of it later. But I get my excitement from some quite unconventional things!
What have you been excited about recently? What are you creating? Feel free to let me know, because much of why I work with people as a homeopath is that I am very interested in what makes them them. Your quirks, your aspirations; these are the things that fascinate me when we are consulting or interacting. <3 What makes you you? That kind of email will bring me a bit of excitement for my day, believe it or not! I told you I get my excitement in interesting ways! You are fascinating!
The thing that's really exciting me right now is what's known as 'back-room tech'.
Ok. I did say it's a bit unconventional!
And I know many of us don't do 'tech' comfortably, so I should also say that about 3 months ago I was crying and about to give up the 'back-room tech.' It looked somewhat more like pouting and getting ready to throw my toys out of the pram. The turn around is quite something!
What changed? I realised it wasn't working for me precisely because I wasn't working with it. I was dropping the ball and not being consistent, so my learning was sliding backward, just like sometimes our healing journeys slide backward when we are not consistent.
I set myself the task of doing just 15 mins a day, and yesterday I did a whole day of 'back-room tech' that excited me so much it felt like play! I only stopped when my husband told me he was going to bed!
What was I actually doing?
I was creating a workshop registration form [reply if you are interested and I'll send the link]. It has an embedded payment form!
Then, I created an automated workflow.
It has triggers that:
=> tag people ["somatic homeopathy workshop"] when they register [so I remember what they were interested in].
=> sends them a confirmation email [which I tailored].
=> Then I worked out how to make it wait for 21 days,
=> then start up again, sending them another email to remind them of the workshop. We love a good reminder email right?
=> The next trigger I added was another wait period of 12 hours [while I upload the recording of the workshop into a pre-made course that I purpose-built].
=> Then I set it to drop the [pre-made] course with the recording of the workshop into the participants' Wren Lloyd Academy library area ... whilst I'm mid-air, travelling to Australia to meet my new grand-daughter ... who is not scheduled quite as tidily as my automations but should be born within the next few weeks!
=> I then asked it to send an email a little while later ... asking for a review.
Now, I'm amusing myself thinking about pipelines I can construct that will take the participants on an exploratory journey of some kind, to explore other things I've prepared ... maybe blogs, or other courses ... this newsletter.
Ideas welcome!
When you sign up for something in future, maybe you'll think about all the mice in the back of the machine who make the wheels move and the confirmation emails arrive in your inboxes!
I love that my only link in this email is a Bagpuss episode!
But, if you want anything, you know where to find me. <3
